-any extra bits you don't want on your time line
Make sure that:
-Everything works
Step 3) Ready to export

-export Media
b)Where do you export ?

Click format, choose a file type
Once its finished loading, you can then click export
c)How do you name your file ? Why is this important ?
When naming your file it should be your group or your name first something about the clip and which version it is. This is important so when you come to putting it all the clips together it is easy to find them so you don't waste time going through them and if you lose it its easier to find it because if everybody named the the same then it would take a little longer to find it.
d)What are the different formats ? mp4, mov, avi, wmmv, flv-explain, discussing file size, resolution/quality and purpose-where will it be used and why is that important ?
mp4- Is a multimedia container format standard specified as a part of MPEG-4. It is most-commonly used to store digital audio and digital video streams, especially those defined by MPEG, but also can be used to store other data such as subtitles and still images. Like most modern container formats, MPEG-4 Part 14 allows streaming over the Internet.
HD TV has used MP4 to broadcast its signals in order to make the transmissions easier and relatively inexpensive.
mov- MOV video file is a common multimedia format often used for saving movies and other video files, using a proprietary compression algorithm developed by Apple Computer, compatible with both Macintosh and Windows platforms. The format specifies a multimedia container file that contains one or more tracks, each of which stores a particular type of data: audio, video, effects, or text (e.g. for subtitles).
| MOV | QuickTime Movie (file extension) |
| MOV | Measurable Organisational Value |
avi- Audio Video Interleaved (also Audio Video Interleave), known by its initials AVI, is a multimedia container format introduced by Microsoft in November 1992 as part of its Video for Windows technology. AVI files can contain both audio and video data in a file container that allows synchronous audio-with-video playback. Like the DVD video format, AVI files support multiple streaming audio and video, although these features are seldom used.
Video content in AVI boasts better quality. This can be proven by viewing AVI files using most digital video players.
wmv-Windows Media Video (WMV) is a compressed video compression format for several proprietary codes developed by Microsoft. The original video format, known as WMV, was originally designed for Internet streaming applications. The other formats, such as WMV Screen and WMV Image, cater for specialised content. Through standardisation from the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers(SMPTE), WMV 9 has gained adoption for physical-delivery formats such as HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc. m
flv- FLV is flash video, it is a format that is design for web playback, offering high rates of compression yet ensuring the quality.
Specifically, the video stream included can be a variant of the H.263
standard or the much more advanced On2VP6 codex. Video from YouTube or
Metacafe use a simplified H.263, commonly refereed to as FLV1 and FLV4
(YouTube uses both, depending on what video it is, Metacafe and others
use FLV4).
2) Converting And Clipping Your Video Using MPEG Streamclip
a)How do you import you film ?
Step 1) File then Import to e.g Avi
b)Which formats can you choose-why is this important ?
You can choose a range of different ones e.g Avi and its important because if you choose the wrong one, it may not be the format you need for the use you need it for.
c)How do you name your files and why is this important ?
When naming your file it should be your group or your name first something about the clip and which version it is. This is important so when you come to putting it all the clips together it is easy to find them so you don't waste time going through them and if you lose it its easier to find it because if everybody named the the same then it would take a little longer to find it.
d)Why is converting useful ?
Converting files from one type to another is important so that the file can be from one type to another is important so that the file can be used by different types of programs. For example you could pull video off off a DVD but iTunes wouldn't be able to play that video unless it was encoded in the correct file type.
e)Why is clipping useful
Clipping is useful because you can select a scene and show just that scene.
3) Uploading Video To Youtube
a)What is the account name/username and password-where do you find this information ?A username is a name that uniquely identifies someone on a computer system. For example, a computer may be setup with multiple accounts, with different usernames for each account. A username is almost always paired with a password. This username/password combination is referred to as a login, and is often required for users to log in to websites. For example, to access your e-mail via the Web, you are required to enter your username and password. Once you have logged in, your username may appear on the screen, but your password is kept secret.
A password is a string of characters used for authenticating a user on a computer system. For example, you may have an account on your computer that requires you to log in. Most passwords are comprised of several characters, which can typically include letters, numbers, and most symbols, but not spaces.
b)How do you name and tag/label you video (for searching) ?
Once you have chosen to upload it, you have the option to tag it. Tags can narrow the search for what you are looking for.
c)How do you annote a video ?
Once you have uploaded the video, you can edit it in Video Manger and you can annote it and you can say whatever you want.
4) Export sizes:
--mp4-53.7 MB--mov-116.9 MB
--avi-303.7 MB
--flv-119.6 MB
